NOTE of INTRODUCTION: These declared positions are not exhaustive in nature, but hopefully they sufficiently represent our position on the following doctrines of the Word of God.
DOCTRINE OF THE SCRIPTURES
We believe that the Bible, which is the 66 books comprising the Old and New Testaments, is the word of God, that it was written by holy men of God who were moved, and guided by the Holy Spirit; so that their writings in the original were plenary, (every word), and verbally inspired. That they are the complete and final revelation of the will of God to man, and rest as the supreme authority on all matters of faith, conduct, and practice of this Local Church. 2 Peter 1:19-21; 2 Timothy3:16-17; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; We believe the Massoretic Hebrew Text for the Old Testament and the Textus Receptus for the New Testament are the closest to the Original Manuscripts. Therefore, we further believe that the King James Version is the divinly preserved word of God without error. Psalm 12:6,7; Psalm119:152, 160; 1 Peter 1:23-25.
DOCTRINE OF GOD
We believe in one triune God eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; eternal in being, identical in essence, equal in power and glory, and having the same divine attributes and perfections; yet exercising them in varied offices. Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John14:7-12; 16:7; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7. We believe all three were active in the creation of our universe, having created the universe, visible and invisible, in six literal, twenty-four-hour days, beginning with no pre-existing materials. Genesis 1:5,8,13,19,23,31; Exodus 20:11;Psalm 33:6-9; We believe that man was created directly (instantly, with nothing coming between) in Gods image, and after Gods own likeness and did not evolve from any lower form of life. Hebrews 11:3; Genesis 1:26,27; that all animal and vegetable life was made directly (instantly, with nothing coming between) and Gods established law is that they bring forth only after their kind. Genesis 1:11, 12, 21, 24, 25. We believe that the moment the earth was created it was mature, not through natural processes, but by the instantaneous and supernatural act of God Genesis 1:11, 12. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-age Theory, and the Thesistic Evolution Theory, as unscriptual theories of Orign.
DOCTRINE OF CHRIST
We believe in the pre-existence of, and the absolute deity of Jesus Christ, that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the virgin Mary Matthew 1:18-20.
whose humiliation in the days of His flesh did not include the laying aside of His deity, John 1:1,2; 10:30; 17:11; 1 John 5:7; Philippians 2:5-11. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotton Son of God, died for our sins, according to the scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:3,4. That He is the sinless substitutionary sacrifice, Hebrews9:14; 1 Peter 1:19-21; 1 John 3:5, and that all who receive Him as Savior, are justified on the grounds of His shed blood, Romans 3:21-26.
We believe in His bodily resurrection from the dead, 1 Corinthians 15:4, His ascension, Acts 1:9-11, His exaltation to the right hand of the Father in heaven, Hebrews 1:3, that He is our Mediator, 1 Timothy 2:5, our High Priest, Hebrews 4:14-15, our Intercessor, Hebrews 7:25, and our Advocate, 1 John 2:1.
We believe in "the blessed hope"- the personal, visible, pretribulational, premillennial and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesue Christ.
Personal, visible return - Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 1 John 3:2-3.
Pretribulational rapture - The rapture of the Church age Saints (boyh the dead and living) will occur before the seven year Tribulation period, or before the seventieth week of Daniel, Daniel 9:24-27. The time of the Gentiles is ended, Romans 11:25. God will then deal with Israel as a Nation, Romans 11:26-27. It is called the time of Jacobs trouble, Jeremiah 30:7-24.
Premillennial - The second coming of Christ will occur prior to the Millennium, or the thousand year reign of Christ upon earth, at which time He will return with His saints, to establish His Millennial Kingdom, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; 2:1-12; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:1-6; 3:10.
Imminent return of the Lord - Matthew 24:36; Mark 13:32; 1 Thessalonians 5:1.
DOCTRINE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is a Person as opposed to a force or influence, because He clearly evidences the characteristics of intellect, emotion, and will. that He is God equal with the Father and Son having the same Nature, and divine attributes acts 5:3-4; 1 John 5:7. We believe the Holy Spirit is necessary in salvation because He convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment; John 16:8-11, and because He regenerates the unbeliever Titus 3:5. That He indwells 1 Corinthians 6:19; John 14:16-18, seals, Ephesians 1:13-14; empowers, Acts 1:8; Sanctifies, Romans 8:26-27; illumines, 1 Corinthians 2:10-14; John 14:26; John 16:13, and assures all believers Romans 8:16.
We believe the Holy Spirit imparts spiritual gifts to believers 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; for the edification of the body of Christ 1 Corinthians 14:1-9. We believe that some of these gifts were temporary, and would end when the perfect Word of God was complete 1 Corinthians 13:8-13. We believe that these gifts were a sign of accreditation to the Jews, and the world that the New Testament Local Assembly was of God Mark 16:15-20; Hebrews 2:1-4.
DOCTRINE OF CREATION
We believe in the Genesis account of Creation, that it is to be accepted literally and not figuratively; that the six days of creation in Genesis chapter one are twenty-four hour days ( Genesis 1:5,8,13,19,23,31; Exodus 20:11; Psalm 33:6-9 ); that man was created directly by God, in the image and likeness of God, and did not evolve from any lower form of life ( Hebrews 11:3; Genesis 1:26,27 ); that all animal and vegetable life was made directly by God, and that His established law is that they bring forth only after their kind (Genesis 1:11,12,21,24,25).
We believe that when God created the Earth and its contents He created it mature and full-grown not through natural processes, but by the instantaneous and supernatural act of God (Genesis 1::1-31). We reject the Evolution Theory, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and the Theistic Evolution Theory. They are unscriptural theories of origin
DOCTRINE OF MAN
We believe man was created in the image and likeness of God on the sixth day of creation when God breathed the breath of life into him. Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 9:6; Genesis 2:7; We believe man is a tripartite creature, consisting of body, soul, and spirit Genesis 1:26-27; 1 Thessalonians 5:23. We believe that man aithough created without sin Genesis 1:27, 31; Ecclesiastes 7:29, by one Transgression fell Genesis 3:6-7; Romans 5:12, 17-19, so that all mankind became sinners by birth Psalm 51:5; and by choice Isaiah 53:6; Psalm 58:3, and that since that time all men are born sinners, spiritually dead Ephesians 2:1-3, alienated from God Ephesians 4:18; Colossians 1:21, and stand in need of personal redemption that is in the Lord Jesus Christ Colossians 1:14; John 3:16-18; Romans 3:19-26.
We believe that the Natural man (those who have not been born again Spiritually) cannot understand spiritual truth 1 Corinthians 2:14, that he must be drawn by God
John 6:44; John 12:36, through hearing of the word of God which produces faith Romans 10:17, which places them under the conviction of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 14:24-25; John16:7-8, at which time, man in his free will can accept, or reject Gods call to salvation John 1:10-13; Acts 7:51-52.
We believe that all who reject the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ, will be eternally separated from God Proverbs 1:24-33; Hebrews 2:3; Hebrews 12:25, cast into Hell
Luke 13:3-5; Psalm 9:17; Matthew 10:28, only to be resurrected at the great white throne judgment, judged according to their deeds, sentenced to die the second death, and cast into the Lake of Fire, with death, and hell the Devil, the beast, and the false prophet for ever and ever Revelation 14:9-11; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:11-15.
DOCTRINE OF SIN
We believe all sin is rebellion (lawlessness) against God. 1 John 3:4; James 4:17; 1 John5:17 We believe Adam was created with a will that was capable of choosing either obedience or disobedience towards God; and, therefore, he willfully chose to sin, 1 Timothy 2:14 and thus originated a sin nature that has passed on to all human beings. Romans 5:12, 19. We believe the sin of Adam resulted immediately in spiritual death and separation from God and as well physical death. Romans 5:13-14 We believe the wages of sin is death (both physical and spiritual), Romans 6:23 and all unbelieving men are dead in sin, Ephesians 2:1-3 so all are deserving of eternal death in the Lake of Fire.
ANGELOLOGY
We believe God created an innumerable host of angels as servants to magnify, worship, and praise God, and to do God's will.
DOCTRINE OF HELL
We believe in a literal and genuine place for the damned called Hell. Hell is a real prepared place Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6; Hell is also the place of the Spiritually dead ( those who have not received Christ as their Savior ) Psalm 9:17; Ezekiel 32:17-32; Revelation 14:9-11; Hell is a secure place no one can escape it, it has gates and bars. Matthew 7:13; 16:18; Hell is a place of physical torment Luke 16:23,24; Matthew 13:41,42; mental torment Luke 16:25; punishment that is everlasting Matthew 25:46 it is a place of unquenchable fire Matthew 18:9; Mark 9:43-48; Hell is a place of worms Isaiah 14:5-12; Mark 9:44, 46, 48.
HEAVEN
We believe in an eternal Heaven for the saved. We believe there are three heavens: the atmosphere, the galaxies, and paradise where God is.
DOCTRINE OF SALVATION
We believe salvation is only possible because of the substitutionary death of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. Hebrews 10:12; Isaiah 53:4,5; Hebrews 9:14,15; 2 Corinthians 5:14,15. That the shedding of the blood of Jesus was essential for our redemption from sin Hebrews 9:22; 1 Peter 1:18,19. However, this salvation is applied only to those who personally repent and receive Jesus as Savior at which time we are born into the family of God. John 3:3,7; John 2:12,13. . We believe that this new birth is instantaneous, not a process of works or merit on the part of any individual, 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:8,9. The new birth is only by the power of the Holy Spirit, and the Word of God working together to bring a person to faith in Christ. 1 Peter1:23; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Titus 3:5,6; Romans 10:17
We believe that in the new birth God justifies the believer. Romans 8:1,29,30; and that the Holy Spirit in dwells the believer with power for service. John 14:16,17 Acts 1:8.
We further believe that after Salvation every believer stands as a Priest before God 1 Peter 2:5; Revelation 1:6.
DOCTRINE OF THE LOCAL CHURCH
We believe that the local church is a visible assembly of born again baptized by immersion believers. Acts 2:41-47; United together for the ministering of the Gospel to the lost. Matthew 28:19,20; Mark 16:15. We believe that the Church is to disciple and train believers to do the work of the ministry. Ephesians 4:11,12. We believe that it is the responsibility of the local church to reach the world through foreign Missions, by actively being involved in sending Missionaries to the field to which God has called them. Acts 1:8.
We believe in the imminent return of Christ, known as the rapture. This return for believers will be pre-tribulational and pre-millennial, resulting in the resurrection of the dead in Christ and the translation of living believers into the presence of the Lord. We believe that, following the rapture, all believers will be judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ according to their works following salvation. We believe there will be both rewards and the lack of rewards based on faithfulness in the Christian life. We believe the Marriage of the Lamb to His bride follows the Bema of Christ. We believe Christ's return will terminate the Tribulation when He defeats the Earth's armies at Armageddon, judges the Nations and sets up His Kingdom. We believe the Millennial reign of Christ will demonstrate His victorious rule over man on Earth. It will be a time of great blessing, and Satan will be bound. However, Satan will be loosed at the end of the Millennium for his final rebellion. Upon being defeated, he will be cast into the Lake of Fire with those who stand before the Great White Throne. We believe God will then create the New Heavens and Earth, with the saved living in the presence of God forever.
